Abstract

Natural killer cells are attributed to lymphocytes of innate immunity for their ability of spontaneous antitumor activity without prior activation. However, recent studies have shown that some viral infections, such as human cytomegalovirus, can cause an increase in the number of NK cells with the phenotype CD57+NKG2C+ compared to healthy donors. It is assumed that cells of this subpopulation have some properties of adaptivity and immunological memory to HCMV infection. This paper is devoted to the study of properties of human NK-cell subpopulations selected for the markers CD57 and NKG2C, when stimulated with IL-2 and membrane-bound IL-21.
