Abstract

Investigation of CD39 and CD73 expression on interstitial cells of calcified aortic valves of 31 patients was performed. Not significant increase (p=0,45) of CD39^-CD73⁺ in cells from tricuspid aortic valves (TAV) comparing with bicuspid valves (BAV) was shown. Only from female patient's valves the difference became significant (BAV - 23,67 (19,43;29,80)%; TAV - 59,34 (49,17;69,55)% (p=0,002)). These data proves the hypotheses of purinergic signaling involvement in calcification suggesting that it is sex related process.
